The Blue-Sided Fairy Wrasse is also known as the Blue Scaled Fairy Wrasse, & Yellow Flanked Fairy Wrasse. There is considerable variation in color depending on location, size, sex, and maturity of the fish.  The Blue-Sided wrasse and the Yellow Flanked Wrasse Cirrhilabrus lyukyuensis have been commonly mistaken for each other in the science of ichthyology. It is now commonly believed they are the same fish. Cirrhilabrus lyukyuensis normally has a bright yellow to orange patch just behind the pectoral fins. Please expect variations in coloration with these fish.

The Blue-Sided Fairy Wrasse is an ideal reef aquarium fish. They are peaceful and very active. They get along with other wrasses of the genus Cirrhilabrus as long as they are added simultaneously.

The Blue-Sided Fairy Wrasse should be fed vitamin enriched frozen mysis shrimp, and other meaty foods as well as a high quality marine flake and marine pellet food.
